Living safely with elephants

⏰ High-risk hours

Elephants move and raid crops most around dawn and dusk — be extra careful then.

✅ Do

• •Keep at least 100 m away and back off slowly and quietly.
• •Stay calm; move to a solid building or higher ground.
• •Warn your neighbours and report the sighting in the app.
• •At night, keep to lit paths and travel in a group.

⛔ Don't

• •Don't sprint in a straight line away — move sideways towards cover.
• •Don't use camera flash or crowd around the elephant.
• •Don't get between an elephant and its calf, or block its path.
• •Don't throw stones or firecrackers at close range.
